The firm was established August 1, 1992 as a result of a merger between Weisberg & Lesk, CPAs and Henry Kampfer, CPA. It has been located in the County of Suffolk, New York. The firm services a wide range of clientele located throughout the New York metropolitan area, as well as other locations across the Country. Its services include accounting, auditing, and tax, as well as management advisory services. We pride ourselves in professionalism, integrity and the technical knowledge necessary to enhance our clients ability toward a more profitable and satisfactory business existence.
The following is some brief background information on each partner.
Stephen H. Weisberg graduated from New York University in 1963 and became a CPA in the State of New York in 1972. He worked for Margolin, Winer & Evens, CPAs and Fred Landau & Co., CPAs from 1963 through 1972. The next three years were spent as a corporate financial officer of a public corporation - Medallion Leisure Corporation. In December 1975, he became a partner in Beaver & Weisberg, CPAs and in 1979, a partner in Adelman, Rubenstein & Weisberg, CPAs. In December 1980, he went on to practice accounting as a sole practitioner. In May 1983, he became a partner with Leonard Lesk and they practiced under the firm name of Weisberg & Lesk, CPAs. In August 1992 the firm was merged with Henry Kampfer, CPA to form the present firm of Weisberg, Lesk & Kampfer, LLP. He is married and the father of three grown children.
Leonard I. Lesk graduated from Baruch College, CUNY in 1971 and became a CPA in the State of New York 1976 and in the State of Florida in 1991. He worked for Fred Landau & Co., CPAs and Touche Ross & Co., CPAs from 1971 through 1974. He was a divisional controller in a public corporation - Instrument Systems Company for three years. From October 1976 through May 1983, he was a partner in Gevirtz, Lesk & Getzel, CPAs. In May 1983, he formed a new partnership with Stephen Weisberg, practicing under the firm name of Weisberg & Lesk, CPAs. Once again, that firm merged with Henry Kampfer, CPA in 1992 and formed the present firm of Weisberg, Lesk & Kampfer, LLP. He is married and the father of two grown boys.
Henry Kampfer graduated in 1972 from Brooklyn College, CUNY. In 1974 he received his Masters Degree from New York University Graduate School and became a CPA in the State of New York in 1977. From 1974 through 1983 he worked for Price Waterhouse & Co. and Levine & Levine, CPAs, PC. From 1983 through 1992 he practiced accounting as a sole practitioner. In August 1992 he merged with the firm of Weisberg & Lesk, CPAs to form the present firm of Weisberg, Lesk & Kampfer, LLP. He is married and the father of two boys.
All partners of the firm are members of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and various State Societies. Besides being participants in various professional organizations, they have been active in community affairs.
